I like how I naturally wake up early now. At first I hated it and tried to will myself back to sleep but eventually I gave in to my body. I eat breakfast everyday now. On the weekends I make nice, big ones. Today I made over easy eggs, toast, hash browns and bacon with a side of strawberries. This may not sound like a big deal to most people, after all people have been making breakfast everyday...
I finished 'A Confederacy of Dunces' today.
I have such mixed feelings about it. I don’t think I could ever read it again for fear of going mad while reading like I did this time (as I posted before the writing creeps into my brain, making me internal monologue my actions in the voice of the author - excruciating in this case). That being said, Toole is a very talented writer. I mean, this book is, without a doubt, a masterful comedy....

Today I looked out the window of the bus and I saw yards blooming with flowers and with a rush of nostalgia and the warm sun on my face I was taken back to summers in Michigan and you and I are at K-Mart and we’re buying flowers. They converted an entire section of the parking lot into the Flower & Garden Center and you’re picking out your never-fail flowers and I’m wandering...
I had to call Child Services today to report sexual abuse. I couldn’t get through and had to use the overflow line which made me feel sick - must be a lot of child abuse going on. Then when they finally called me back they said they couldn’t send anyone today. This is messed up. I mean, there was no immediate danger, but come on. Turns out they are extremely understaffed from the...

Gina: Hey ladies! It has been a really long time since we all got together and I thought maybe we could have a slumber party at my parents house sometime around Nicole's wedding, the following Sunday.
Bender: I'm there, but only if Jan provides a giant garbage bag full of her famous popcorn! But she'll prob be a little busy that weekend, so I won't hold her to it. You guys think we could replicate the deliciousness ourselves?
Gina: We could def try.... we have Jillian on the inside, we can shake her down for the secret! I love that Jan is the only person who makes AWESOME popcorn and makes it in garbage bag quantities! I will never forget it on our band trip!
Bennie: Jan does make the most delicious popcorn known to mankind.
Bender: That bag o' corn was our salvation on the 22 hr. bus ride to NYC! I think her secret recipe has something to do with Crisco, but maybe I'm confusing that with the freezer hashbrown patties we used to fry up.
Thanks to these sexy bitches, that boy is going to have some new clothes to pick up some sexy bitches of his own. MAKEOVER.
It makes me happy that both Dan R and Dan H sent me an email today linking me to the greatness that is Keyboard Cat.

All I want to do is go to bed so I can end this day but there has been stupid helicopters circling over my apartment for over an hour now making all kinds of noise. Today was a dumb day. I woke up feeling ridiculously depressed, unable to muster the energy to put one foot in front of the other to get out of bed. I couldn’t imagine brushing my teeth, running the shower, making eggs, finding a...
Stepping back and admiring my handiwork, I knew that I had hit upon the answer....

I totally relate to the protagonist in the book I’m reading who suffers from mental illness. When my mind is about to explode or I can’t shut off negative thoughts or if I want to use drugs or drink all I can do is just clean, clean, clean and organize,...

I subbed in for another class today that obvs doesn’t know the glory of full court contact sports during P.E. I organized a game of basketball and it ended up being Boys v. Girls (four girls, six boys). We KILLED the boys. The boys were being typical teenage boys and taking all these redic shots and not passing the ball or playing as a team but we were above all that and sinked it in almost...
Returned to Los Angeles after a long weekend in Disneyland to discover I am locked out of my apartment and my roommate is out of town with her key. Wish I was sleeping it up somewhere.
Have you ever read a book where upon finishing it your whole way of thinking has been momentarily altered, as if it would be impossible to live your life the way you had before the book? It alters your entire perception of the world around you. It makes you look at your body differently. Makes your past ways of thinking seem silly. I’m wondering how long it will take me to get back to...
